The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) conducted an assessment of occupational safety and industrial safety systems at its plants as part of the annual Occupational Safety Day. The expert commissions, consisting of top managers of the company and heads of enterprises, worked at 25 production sites.
The multi-stage preparation for the inspection within the framework of the Occupational Safety Day has been carried out for several months with the active participation of the company's employees and contractors. Employees at all levels conducted an assessment of compliance with workplace safety requirements. The data from the industrial risk analysis and preventive action plans formed based on the results of the previous audit were taken into account. Based on the results of the identified inconsistencies, action plans are being developed to eliminate them. Thus, achievements over the past period are recorded and growth points for the future are outlined.
In 2025, emphasis was placed on such topics as the maintenance of workplaces, premises and territories, the organization of briefings and internships at the workplace, the prevention of risks of workers falling from heights and surfaces of the same level, and the safety of the technological process. Based on the results of the audit, which included an assessment of the situation in the workshops, meetings with teams and familiarization with reports from the previous period, the commissions identified the main vectors of further work.
"Taking care of people is a key priority in the company's activities. TMK is constantly improving its occupational safety system and modernizing equipment to ensure comfort and safety in the workplace. Projects such as the Occupational Safety Day allow us to share experiences, highlight and scale best practices at different company sites. These include new briefing formats, professional development of employees using virtual reality tools, and digital tools for monitoring the workspace and analyzing emergency situations. Through joint efforts, we are steadily moving towards the common goal of achieving zero injuries", - said Sergey Chikalov, CEO of TMK.
"Based on the experience of our enterprises, we understand that risks can be minimized only with the maximum involvement of the employees themselves in this process. Occupational Safety Day provides an opportunity to draw the attention of a wide range of people to this topic – tens of thousands of TMK employees and contractors regularly take part in events. Thus, employees themselves become co-authors of a large-scale action plan to improve working conditions and increase safety. In 2024, 1,056 events were planned at TMK enterprises, more than 90% of them were completed by the second quarter of 2025", - said the deputy
