TMK has completed an order for the construction of thermal power plants in the Far North

Chelyabinsk enterprises of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) supplied equipment for a thermal power plant (TPP) under construction in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The batch for the Yakutsk thermal power plant includes pipes and connecting parts of pipelines with a total volume of about 3 thousand tons.

TMK's products will be used to build a system of circulating water ducts that supply and discharge cooling water to turbine condensers, water coolers, and the main heat exchange equipment at thermal power plants. A special feature of the order was the manufacture of parts of atypical diameters — from 1,620 mm to 3,500 mm.

The company's pipe and metallurgical and mainline engineering divisions participated in the implementation of the project. TMK metallurgists applied non-standard engineering, technological and logistical solutions to solve the problem. In particular, all products underwent additional ultrasonic quality control, and special awning plugs were used to protect the ends of the pipes during transportation. The shipment was delivered to the customer in a short time by river route — while the navigation season on the Lena River is in effect.

"TMK's participation in the implementation of large—scale projects in the Far North is an indicator of high consumer confidence in the quality of our products, as pipes and connecting parts will be operated in extreme climatic conditions. We are proud of the company's contribution to providing heat and light to remote northern territories of Russia," said Evgeny Gubanov, Managing Director of TMK's Trunk Engineering Division.

The start of operation of the new thermal power plant is scheduled for 2028. It will contribute to the sustainable energy supply of the vast northern regions, significantly increase the reliability of the Yakutia energy system and create the foundation for further socio-economic development of the region.
