The annual corporate forum of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) Horizons has started in Sochi and will be held from September 22 to 26 under the slogan "Ideas are changing us". More than 500 employees of the company are taking part in the event, organized by TMK2U Corporate University.
This year, the forum pays special attention to the team solution of applied business tasks. The participants of the final stage in Sochi were determined based on the results of the 18-track Youth Scientific and Practical Conference, which was held during the summer in an online and hybrid format. The best specialists who entered the top rating of each track got the opportunity to go to the forum in Sochi. The participants of the Leadership Workshop competition, which is aimed at identifying and developing young leaders among line managers, were selected using a similar system.
Teams were formed from the selected employees, each of which received a case developed by the track's expert commission in cooperation with the TMK2U Corporate University. The teams also include experts and team leaders — experienced participants of the MNPC of previous years. The task of the team is to solve an applied business problem within three days. Based on the results of the work, the team defends the decision before the commission represented by the CEO of TMK and other company executives.
In addition, an important part of the forum is the IT track, which for the first time takes place in collaboration with the track "Marketing and Sales". During it, participants will work for five days on a project simulating the merger of two production organizations. The goal of the IT team is to achieve maximum virtual profit for the company with minimal losses. According to the results of the track, the winners are determined both in the overall standings and in individual directions.
For the first time, an assessment center, a comprehensive assessment of competencies, will be held for all participants of the forum. The purpose of the procedure is to select candidates with development potential for inclusion in the management reserve. The assessment is based on several key competencies: leadership, goal setting, analytical skills, team building, and communication skills.
The educational program of the forum includes a series of master classes from TMK2U business trainers. Participants gain knowledge and skills in various fields, from theory of inventive problem solving to effective negotiation. In addition, the forum will feature presentations by internal and external speakers from the fields of art, science, education and business, as well as a traditional meeting with the CEO of TMK.
The Horizons Forum has become a key tool for developing the company's human resources potential. Over the years, it has proven its effectiveness in identifying talented people.
