Employees of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) offered solutions to 15 business challenges facing the company as part of the 21st Horizons Corporate Forum. More than a third of the projects have been accepted for implementation by top management and will contribute to increasing the company's competitiveness and improving working conditions.
The forum, organized by TMK2U Corporate University, was attended by more than 500 employees. During the event, teams of participants consisting of the winners of the Youth Scientific and Practical Conference (YNPC), experts and team leaders solved cases created by the expert commission together with the TMK2U Corporate University. They represented TMK's applied business objectives in the field of increasing equipment productivity, forming optimal planning models, achieving zero injuries, managing personnel and social programs, developing client or CRM systems, and other areas.
In particular, the teams addressed issues of automation of accounting and analysis of energy consumption, improvement of maintenance and repair systems, improvement of economic efficiency in the work of production workshops, selection of materials and development of technology for manufacturing pipes for carbon dioxide utilization, creation of an optimal model of social programs, and others. The winners and laureates of the forum were determined based on the points received for the IPCC stage, as well as the demonstrated competencies in solving cases.
The Horizons Forum is aimed at finding, selecting and promoting the most gifted, trained, proactive specialists and managers. This year, we invited them to solve the current business challenges facing TMK. For them, this is a unique opportunity to participate in shaping strategic initiatives at the company level. We accepted six of the fifteen submitted projects for implementation immediately, as they are in a high degree of readiness. I think this is a good result reflecting the high intellectual and creative capital of the team," said Sergey Chikalov, CEO of TMK.
In addition, the winners of various corporate competitions were awarded at the forum. Dmitry Argunov, a leading engineer and technologist at Pervouralsky Novotrubny Zavod (PNTZ), became the winner of the "TMK's Best Young Inventor" competition. In the TMK Ideas Exchange competition, Maxim Sergeev, head of the PNTZ site, became the most productive author of ideas for continuous improvements, and Lyudmila Dresvyankina, head of the laboratory of the Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), became the head of the operational improvements department. The winner of the "Korpmission" competition: Man and Society" became STZ. In addition, the TMK enterprises that won were awarded.
