The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) held an Occupational Safety Week, a large—scale event to assess and improve the level of industrial safety at the company's enterprises, during which audits and meetings with teams, as well as cross-checks between enterprises, took place.
Comprehensive inspections were carried out in such areas as the organization of loading and unloading operations, high-risk work, the operation of metalworking machines and the personnel training system. An innovation was the introduction of a system of cross-checks, in which factories exchanged delegations for audits. This approach allowed us to take a fresh look at technological processes and share best practices in the field of security.
During the audits, the specialists paid special attention to the arrangement of workspaces, providing employees with personal protective equipment, the process of training in safe working methods and the organization of work processes. Meetings with employees and functional managers of the company were also held at the production sites, where topical issues of occupational safety and industrial safety were discussed.
"Occupational Safety Week has become the next stage in the implementation of TMK's long-term strategy to increase the level of industrial safety and create the most comfortable working conditions for employees. This year's innovation, the introduction of cross—checks, has become an important step in the development of a safety culture in the company, as the exchange of experience between enterprises allows us to find new solutions and improve the efficiency of work processes. The company will continue to improve the occupational safety system by implementing best practices and modern approaches," said Evgeny Zaselsky, TMK's Chief Engineer.
The most effective solutions implemented and identified on production sites as part of cross-audits will be posted on a special digital service, TMK's Bank of Best Practices, which enables enterprises to learn from each other's experience.
