The Corporate University of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK2U) and the autonomous non-profit organization "Russian Quality System" (Roskachestvo) held a training forum "Digital Transformation of Quality", which was attended by 64 representatives of companies from 19 industries. The Forum was held at the Scientific and Technical Center (STC) TMK in Moscow.
Vyacheslav Gagarin, TMK's Deputy General Director for Quality, addressed the participants with an introductory speech. He outlined one of the key topics of the event: changing the approach to product quality assurance from controlling to predictive using predictive technologies. The company itself actively uses such tools: one of them is the program "Digital Assistant of a steelworker", which analyzes the chemical composition, temperature of steel and determines the necessary melting parameters.
The event also discussed the use of the company's digital model in the product quality control system, the creation of machine-readable standards, the involvement of employees in the quality management process, and other topics. The heads of TMK's specialized divisions, as well as Anna Malechkovich, Director of the Department of Business Process Efficiency and International Cooperation of Roskachestvo, Andrey Lotsmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Technical Regulation Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and Alexander Zhdankin, General Director of the Center for Sustainable Business Development, shared their experiences and best practices during the event. In addition, case studies on automation of business processes in the field of quality management were presented at a separate session of the forum.
"The digital transformation of the quality system involves, first of all, the transition to predictive quality management using digital doubles and other tools. This approach will allow us to predict all technological processes when launching new products in order to achieve predictable high results and fully meet the customer's needs. At the event, we share this experience and contribute to an overall increase in the level of digital maturity of domestic companies," Vyacheslav Gagarinov said.
"Digitalization is designed to increase competitiveness by optimizing business processes and increasing labor productivity. At the event, the participants gained theoretical knowledge and got acquainted with the real experience of implementing similar practices that can be applied in the implementation of their own projects. At the same time, it is important for businesses to assess their readiness for such changes. This can be done by self—assessment according to the criteria of the Digital Quality Standard.
