TMK spoke about the use of artificial intelligence and protection against cyber threats at CIPR-2026

Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) shared its experience of digitalization of enterprises at the conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia" (CIPR-2026). Dmitry Yakob, TMK's Deputy General Director for Information Technology, spoke about strengthening cybersecurity, introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into production processes and other aspects of the digital transformation process.

During the session "Billions under the gun. How to manage processes when cyber protection costs more than an AI subscription?", organized by the Solar Group of companies, the TMK representative gave examples of the use of AI in electric steelmaking: at the stage of acceptance and loading of scrap metal and in the steelmaking process itself. Due to the optimal selection of the charge composition, melting modes and increased efficiency of other components of the steelmaking process, the solution allows the company to save more than 1 billion rubles annually. Other production and business processes of the company are also integrated with information systems, which requires constant improvement and verification of cyber defense mechanisms set out in TMK's Information Security Policy.

Speaking at the session "Business Continuity in the Era of digital Terrorism", which was held by Jet Infosystems, Dmitry Jacob shared his experience of conducting large-scale practical exercises simulating the inaccessibility of the entire information infrastructure of the corporate circuit. During the training, an inventory of information systems related to business processes was carried out, and for two weeks the exercises themselves took place, followed by virtual restoration of the infrastructure. As a result, not only the operational response plan to external threats was tested, but also the necessary adjustments and innovations were made to the existing toolkit.

"Modern economic challenges require businesses to develop and modernize the corporate IT landscape. Therefore, we consider ensuring cybersecurity as an ongoing process to prevent potential threats. TMK has been systematically working in these areas for many years, which has allowed the company to reach the forefront in digitalizing production and creating an effective information security system," said Dmitry Yakob.

The Digital Industry of Industrial Russia Conference (CIPR-2026) is a discussion platform for a dialogue between government and business representatives on the digital transformation of society and economic sectors. CIPR brings together thousands of participants from Russia and abroad — representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, government agencies, scientific and startup communities.
