But no clear response has been received from the factories, says Callanishou, the manager of a relatively small facility in Bender in northern Germany, and says he can still place orders at 400 euros per ton.
In southern Germany, one commentator claims that 380 euros per ton is still possible with equal prices from German producers. And Italian factories, and this is due to competition from both sides in the south. He also denies that the previous surge in purchases was even very large.
He admits that factories face higher transportation costs and have reason to demand higher prices, but adds that "the market speaks a different language."This is the only factory that has been particularly affected by low prices.
