Prices for fittings

In Germany, they stabilized after the fall that occurred a month ago, but there was no noticeable growth. Basic prices for

Prices declined from mid-July to August, exceeding the mark of 400 euros per ton (466 US dollars per ton), while quotes from major manufacturers of fittings reached 380 euros per ton, and even lower than in Southern Germany.

Several buyers report increased buying activity during this period. They also note signals from factories to announce firmer prices, at least at 400 euros per ton, but ideally, according to one buyer from Central Germany, they should be 10-20 euros more expensive.

But no clear response has been received from the factories, says Callanishou, the manager of a relatively small facility in Bender in northern Germany, and says he can still place orders at 400 euros per ton.

In southern Germany, one commentator claims that 380 euros per ton is still possible with equal prices from German producers. And Italian factories, and this is due to competition from both sides in the south. He also denies that the previous surge in purchases was even very large.

He admits that factories face higher transportation costs and have reason to demand higher prices, but adds that "the market speaks a different language."

This is the only factory that has been particularly affected by low prices. According to him, the water level in the Rhine River has increased by 10 euros per ton to compensate for additional logistics costs.

An additional amount must be added to all base prices, usually amounting to 265 euros per ton.
