large-Scale construction of the plant with a length of 490 meters began in July 1977, the building was supervised personally by the first Secretary of the Bashkir regional Committee of CPSU M. Z. The construction of the mill and installation was provided by 48 specialists of Contracting organizations from all over the Soviet Union. the 2000s marked a new stage of development of the plant. Here have been a number of large-scale reconstructions and modernizations of equipment and systems of mill control. This allowed to increase the annual capacity of the workshop to 600 thousand tons of wire rod, to expand the range of products and improve product quality.
Today, the mill 150 specializiruetsya in the production of steel billets – wire rod of more than 100 steel grades with diameters from 5.5 mm to 13.5 mm. a Large part of the manufactured products goes to further processing in the wire-making shop. Rod also comes metalware plants of Mechel Group and is sold for export. The shop employs about 400 people.

From its stable operation and quality of produced billets for steel wire plants depends on the activity of the whole plant. Therefore, we are not standing still and are constantly updating existing mill equipment. For example, we are now considering the possibility of upgrading part of the system of air cooling of wire rod to improve its mechanical properties", – said General Director of JSC "BMK" Sergei Fedorov.
