At the Technical University of UMMC, the defense of final qualification works of the first in the history of the university of graduation of bachelors of correspondence form of study took place. 47 specialists have been trained for UMMC enterprises in three areas: metallurgy, power engineering and electrical engineering, automation of technological processes and production.
“Last year we graduated the first undergraduates, and today we have the first graduation of bachelors of the correspondence department. These are employees from the enterprises of our company, who will now continue to carry out their duties as already certified specialists. In the future, at least some of them expect career growth, ”explained Vyacheslav Lapin, director of the UMMC Technical University.
19 metallurgists, 17 power engineers, 11 "submachine gunners" received bachelor's diplomas. Evgeny Mikhailov (OJSC MC Kuzbassrazrezugol) and Yegor Chirkov (AO Uralelectromed) have documents with honors.
All graduate theses are of an applied nature and economic significance for the company's enterprises. For example, technical solutions of the final qualification work "Modernization of the existing process control system of the pellet furnace of the copper smelting shop" are planned for implementation in March 2020 at Uralelektromed JSC.
“I took part in the defense of bachelors in the specialty of electric power engineering. All topics of theses have been agreed with the enterprises, most of the projects are planned to be implemented in production in the near future, ”concluded Oleg Moshinsky, Deputy Technical Director for Energy of UMMC.
In the summer at the UMMC Technical University, the first bachelor's degrees will be awarded to full-time graduates, who for four years gain not only knowledge, but also practical production experience. The full-time department also studies a student sent to the university by an external customer - the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant. Being the only private technical university in the mining and metallurgical industry in Russia, the UMMC Technical University is aimed not only at training personnel for enterprises within the company, but is also ready to cooperate with other large corporations.
