BMK took part in the all-Russian action "Week without turnstiles"

Press Releases
Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant (BMK JSC, part of the Mechel Group) was visited by more than 100 high school students from city schools. The enterprise opened its doors within the framework of the All-Russian campaign “Week without turnstiles”.

High school students got acquainted with the "hottest" workshop of the enterprise - rolling mill 150, where wire rod is made - a blank for further wire production in the steel wire workshops of the plant. We visited a new production of multi-strand polymer-coated ropes. Here they were shown how steel ropes for excavators and lifting equipment are twisted and covered with plastic. “BMK ropemen have long dreamed of new modern equipment. We are proud that such a unique production, which has no analogues in Russia, was launched at BMK in just three years thanks to the state support of the RF Industry Development Fund. And although we started to produce this novelty quite recently - from January, today our ropes with polymer are in demand and are supplied not only to Russia, but also abroad, ”- said the head of the rope workshop No. 2 Yuri Klygin.

The schoolchildren also visited the microwire shop and saw almost a "jewelry" production, where a wire with a diameter several times thinner than a human hair is made. The guys learned that only four enterprises in the world produce such microwire, and one of them is BMC. It is used in the aerospace, electronics, paper and glass industries. For example, all the information from the “black boxes” is recorded on the sound microwire.

“Such excursions are just a small part of our career guidance program. At BMK, industrial and pre-diploma practice of students of specialized secondary schools and universities, training of their graduates are held. Also, the specialists of the plant's personnel department meet with students, talk about the specifics of the enterprise's work, and there are plans for young people to meet with the best workers, specialists and managers of the plant, "said Oleg Tertychny, HR Director of JSC BMK.

All-Russian the action "Week without turnstiles" is held annually in October and April to increase the prestige of workers and engineering specialties.
