According to the results of the republican competition "100 ideas for Belarus", the winner in the nomination "Industrial and construction technologies and production" was recognized the project, the authors of which are representatives of the Institute of Mechanics of Metal-Polymer Systems named after V.A. Bely of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the head of the laboratory of hardware production of the research center - the branch laboratory of technologies for metallurgical and steel wire production at BMZ Timur Akhmetov.
The project “Using steelmaking waste to obtain import-substituting composite materials for tribotechnical purposes” won the competition for the team of authors. In it, young scientists presented a development on the creation of import-substituting materials using precipitated flue gas particles formed as a by-product in metallurgy. We are talking about polymer composites for tribotechnical purposes for technological equipment of metalware production of OJSC “BMZ - the managing company of the holding“ BMK ”.
The presented project is of great economic importance. Thus, the developed polymer composites in terms of technical and operational parameters are not inferior to foreign analogues, and in some cases they exceed their capabilities by 1.2-1.4 times. At the same time, their cost is on average 25% lower than that of foreign manufacturers.
It is worth noting that products made of composites modified with precipitated flue gas particles have already been successfully tested at the production of BMZ. As the authors note, their development can also find application at enterprises producing synthetic and glass threads, textile and rope products.
