The company has created a special commission to ensure the accident-free passage of the flood. The plant's specialists cleaned storm water inlets, wells, drainage ditches and passages of melt water, the crest of the sludge pond dam and entrances to it, sealed cable tunnels, brought drainage pumps and other equipment for pumping water into working order. Snow, ice and debris are removed from the plant. In the near future, it is planned to train services and specialized teams on interaction in the event of a threat of an emergency in conditions of a spring flood.
The water level in the Izhevsk pond and the Izh River is recorded daily. At the moment, the volume of water discharged from the pond is within acceptable values. The increase in levels is expected in the third decade of April. “We are closely monitoring the flood situation, because part of the plant is in the zone of possible flooding. The personnel and the necessary equipment are in a state of full readiness, "commented the chief engineer of PJSC Izhstal Alexey Giss.
