At the third stage of a copper electrolysis plant JSC "Uralelectromed" (metallurgical complex of UMMC) has started construction of the pit where you will install the tank and pumping equipment. At the moment specialists perform excavation and prepare the area for concreting.
According to the chief engineer of JSC "Uralelektromed" Alexei Korolev, tanks and pumping equipment required for the preparation, stabilization and filtration of solutions, electrolyte circulation, collecting sludge slurry, condensate and acceptance acids.
- Tank sump serves to prevent the spill of technological solutions on the shop floor in case of depressurization of equipment, he said.
the copper tankhouse has its own structural peculiarities: the area of the tanks and pumps made in the form of monolithic reinforced concrete boxes at around minus 1.4 m. This is necessary to ensure gravity draining of the electrolyte in the receiving tanks. The pit will consist of a layered system of protection against corrosion of acid solution based on liquid glass, acid-proof rubber and acid-resistant brick.
at the same time in the workshop work continues on the foundations for electrical equipment, installation of metal trusses and crane girders, the ventilation chambers.
Note that the third phase will also run on unsupported technology using cathodes made from stainless steel. The new facility will house one circulating system, consisting of 224 electrolysis baths with attendant process equipment (tanks, pumps, heat exchangers). The project also includes installation of two automated lines of machines anode preparation machines and anode scrap washing.
Recall that in February 2012 JSC "Uralelektromed" has commissioned the first modern plant with the capacity of 160 thousand tons of copper cathode per year. In may 2018 was launched the second phase with the same capacity. A new production facility, whose construction is scheduled for completion in 2022, will enable the company to issue a total of up to 400 thousand tons of copper cathodes on unsupported technology per year.
