The regional stage of the World Children's Games of the winners has started today at the UMMC Sports Palace. This is a unique international sports competition for children who have defeated cancer.
Since 2010, unique international competitions have been held by the Podari Zhizn Foundation (Moscow). In the Sverdlovsk Region, the regional stage of the Winners 'Games is being held for the third time on the initiative of the Children of Russia charitable foundation.
Children aged 7-16 from different cities of the region came to the Winners' Games in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The participants have months and even years of grueling treatment behind them. Everyone has won the most important victory in life - over disease. The organizers and partners of the event strive to make sure that the Games bring children as much joy and new bright impressions as possible.
The program of the competition includes 60 meters running, shooting, swimming, chess and table tennis. In their free time from the competition, developing master classes are held for the participants.
The games of the winners are one of the most positive, bright and life-affirming projects in the field of Russian charity. He not only introduces the stories of amazing children and their families who have gone through the hardest test of a terrible disease, but also clearly demonstrates: children's cancer is being successfully treated in Russia.
- Today's competition is to help children who have undergone severe trials to adapt to a new life after an illness. After all, many of them spent a year or two within the walls of the cancer center. During this time, they lost touch with reality, and such a holiday gives them the opportunity to communicate with their peers, see new people, experience vivid emotions, ”says Vladimir Beloglazov, vice president of the Children of Russia charitable foundation. - Parents later note that their children become more open and cheerful. In addition, the participants of the Games of the winners serve as an example for the children who undergo treatment at the cancer center, give them hope that there are always chances, and the disease can be defeated.
All participants in the Winning Games will receive prizes from organizers and sponsors, and 10 finalists will go to international competitions in Moscow.
