The eternal flame at the renewed memorial will be lit from molten metal released from the furnace of the copper-smelting shop of JSC "Uralelectromed" (during the War - "Pyshminsky Copper Electrolyte Plant "). Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Vasily Petrovich Ponomarev will deliver a torch lit in the workshop to the opening ceremony in a Pobeda GAZ-M20B (convertible) car.

Next, the participants of the event at the memorial will probably have one of the most touching moments of celebration Victory Day in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. UMMC General Director Andrey Kozitsyn and Uralelektromed JSC Director Vladimir Kolotushkin will give two families the “fate” of their relatives, who disappeared without a trace during the Great Patriotic War.

“The list does not appear ...” - this was how they answered everything requests of the daughter of Nikolai Yakovlevich Korchagin, who on the second day of the war was drafted into the Red Army, and since November 1942 has gone missing. After a long and painstaking work, it was established that the hero-scout was captured, where he died on January 14, 1943. He was buried in a mass grave in Germany.

The relatives of Ivan Petrovich Leontyev, who was drafted into the army even before the war in 1940, and since August 1942 nothing about his fate, will also learn about the heroic deed of the paratrooper known. In the course of archival work, it was established that Ivan Petrovich heroically died on August 21, 1942, defending the lines on the approaches to Stalingrad - having tied himself with grenades, he blew up an enemy tank. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Sirotinskaya, Volgograd region.

Search teams in the sponsored schools of Uralelectromed JSC were created in 2002. During their work, 58 families learned the fate of their loved ones who did not return from the war.

Delegations of veterans from UMMC enterprises located in the Sverdlovsk region will also arrive at the rally near the “Journalists” in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. They will take part in the flower-laying ceremony, and then become spectators of the solemn procession of military equipment.

In the Museum of Military Equipment of the UMMC, townspeople and guests of the city will be able to see the world's largest collections of aircraft, tanks, guns, ships, trains and cars from the Great Patriotic War. Over the past year, a lot of new products have appeared in the exposition of the exhibition complex, including a rare modification of the legendary T-34-85 tank in winter white camouflage and a heavy "ghost" tank KV-1S, named after the USSR People's Commissar of Defense Klim Voroshilov.

Last year, the UMMC Automotive Museum was opened next to the military museum. It contains more than 160 rare cars and 150 samples of bicycles and motorcycles, ranging from a replica of the first car created by Karl Benz, ending with Soviet Volgas, American Cadillacs and British Rolls-Royce.

12.00 Action "Waltz of Victory" (the area near the Technical University of UMMC, Uspensky prospect, 3)

The residents of Verkhnyaya Pyshma will take part in the all-Russian action "Waltz of Victory" for the third time. On the square in front of the UMMC Technical University this year about three hundred people will gather - 150 couples. Among them - fifty university students of all courses and areas of study, who attended rehearsals twice a week for three months.

Dance compositions will be shown to the songs "Sevastopol Waltz", "Leningrad Waltz" and "Clouds in Blue ". Groups of youth and veteran organizations of JSC "Uralelectromed" will add to student pairs. In addition, more than 70 students and cadets of the Yunost technical school, as well as fifty representatives of the city school No. 25: students, teachers, parents, were involved in the preparation for the "Waltz of Victory". For the first time, young employees of Uralskie Lokomotivy LLC will take part in the dance action in front of the building of the engineering university with the dance composition "Cranes".
