Gaiskiy GOK began the final stage of construction of new HV / mV substation


PAT "Gaisky GOK" (enterprise resource complex of UMMC) has started the final stage of construction of new HV / mV substations with voltage of 35/6 kV "South-2/2". It will provide electricity to newly built production facilities of the plant.





"Download the currently available capacity of the existing substations located in the area of construction (GLP-1 and PS 35/6 kV "South 2"), close to 100%, and the ability to connect and operate in all modes, loads of new production facilities is missing. Therefore, the purpose of uninterrupted supply of electricity projects under construction the decision was made on the construction of new substations with voltage of 35/6kV substation next to the existing 35/6kV substation "South 2",- says the head of the building were renewed Gaisky GOK Vladimir Selivanov.





Preliminary engineering investigations, surveys and project work completed, OOO "Energoprogress" (Chelyabinsk). According to the draft of the new step-down substation will consist of two closed distribution devices (CDD) with a voltage of 35 kV and 6 kV, two power transformers with capacity of 10 MVA each. Currently, the contractor has completed installation of the main equipment and lead installation of conductors, anchor corner supports.





"During the construction of this substation, due to the limited size of the market, to reduce the size of the equipment for the first time our company applied indoor switchgear 35 kV in modular design, equipped with vacuum circuit breakers, - said Vladimir Selivanov. - For the same reason, because of limitations in size and complex configuration tracks, to connect the power transformer to indoor switchgear-6kV applied complete the busbars with cast insulation".





Busbar with cast resin insulation has a number of advantages, the main of which are: small dimensions and bending radii; high mechanical strength of insulation; minimal probability of occurrence of short circuit; high fire safety.





Construction and installation work at the substation "South-2/2" is scheduled for completion this summer.
