the First launch of the continuous broadband mill 2500 hot rolling took place in December 1960, since different areas of the mill was repeatedly reconstructed. Large-scale reconstruction in the conditions of production began in 2007. The General contractor of the construction was JSC "prokatmontazh". Manufacturer of the main technological equipment for hot rolling mill 2500 was Novokramatorsky engineering works (NKMZ). In February 2018, PJSC "MMK" signed a contract with SMS group GmbH for the supply of equipment for reconstruction of the finishing stands of the mill.
In July 2010 on the mill 2500 was commissioned shearing line No. 3, designed for cutting of strips into sheets of a measured length cut edge with the results of products in sheet form, stacked into bundles.
In 2012-2013 instead of the earlier six heating furnaces, dismantled and removed from the work shop were built three new high-performance heating furnaces Tenova, an Italian company with a larger width of the hearth, which will take slabs of length up to ten meters. The productivity of the furnace will amount to 370 tons of metal per hour (before – about 100 tons, today is 280 tons). Modern heating technology ensures reduction of formation of scale. In addition, the new kiln is more economical in comparison with the previous requires two times less of natural and coke oven gas. In 2019 roughing group of hot rolling mill 2500 hot rolling mill was put into operation two new universal reversing stand with vertical and horizontal rolls. In September this year will be built another conveyor with a trolley for transferring rolls in a rolling mill No. 5, the so-called line of cleaning №3. With its commissioning, the coils will hit the road and go to the warehouse and to consumers in a horizontal position, so as to avoid further damage during transportation.
In July 2020 launched new scissors Н65, descaling installation (installation of hydraulic descaling). Also in the reconstruction of the finishing stands commissioned a new crate F0 (delivered under contract with NCMH), four new stand (under contract with SMS group) instead of the old crates 7-10, new discharge conveyor with the upgraded system of laminar cooling of the strip, the new coiler No. 6. In the reconstruction of the finishing group is also the first time you installed the coil-box (produced by NKMZ). This is an intermediate coiling device, which will be unwound at high speed the sound coming from the roughing train, then unwinding it at a lower speed and set the other end in the finishing group of stands.
