PJSC Severstal supported the XXVII International Ballet Festival Benoit de la Danse on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, known worldwide as the "Ballet Oscar" on May 21-22, 2019.
Viewers saw the most striking works in areas of world ballet, including masterpieces and specially created works for the Festival of Stars of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, Joffrey Ballet (USA), Paris Opera Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Berlin State Ballet, Washington Ballet, Vienna State Ballet, Hamburg Ballet (Germany), Malpaso Company »(Cuba), House of Shapes (Sweden), Hubbard Street Dance Company (USA), National Ballet of the Netherlands, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet (USA), Zurich Ballet, Swedish Royal Ballet.
The 2019 jury includes prominent names in the world of ballet and artistic directors of the largest musical theaters: Yuri Grigorovich, Svetlana Zakharova, Dirk Badenhorst, Ted Brandsen, A on the Laguna, Agnes Letestu, Vladimir Malakhov, Rachel Moore.
On May 21, the winners were awarded and the ballet stars - nominees for the Benoit de la Danse Prize 2019 were awarded. Soloists of 11 leading dance groups of the world fought for the title of laureate this year. The gala concert on May 22 was dedicated to the Year of Theater announced in Russia. In it, along with the best dancers from around the world, the artists of the Theater. Vakhtangov in choreographic scenes from "The Queen of Spades", "Othello" and "Anna Karenina".
Artistic Director and Chairman of the Program Jury Benoit de la Danse is the President of the International Union of Choreographers, an outstanding choreographer Yuri Grigorovich.
The Benoit de la Danse International Ballet Prize is awarded annually for the most outstanding choreographic work. The author of the prize statuette is the famous sculptor Igor Ustinov, a representative of the renowned Benois family.
The collection from the concerts of the festival is transferred in the form of personal material assistance to the most needy ballet veterans of various dance groups in Moscow.
