Acting Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler, as part of a working trip to Novotroitsk, together with Andrey Varichev, General Director of Metalloinvest Management Company, visited the production sites of Ural Steel JSC (part of Metalloinvest).
During the excursion to the main shops of Ural Steel, the guests got acquainted with the investment objects of Metalloinvest, which are being sold with the aim of increasing the output of products with high added value.
The key object of the delegation's visit was the electric steel-smelting shop, where, to fulfill long-term contracts for the supply of wheel billets for the Vyksa Steel Works and a rail billet for the Aktobe Rail and Steel Works, a continuous casting machine No. 1 was modernized, as well as a steel vacuuming unit.
This year one of the two reconstructed electric arc furnaces was put into pilot operation at the ESPC. The modernization is carried out using the flexible modular furnace technology FMF (Flexible Modular Furnace), which allows increasing the proportion of liquid iron in the charge up to 85% and reducing electricity consumption to zero.
“The most important condition for the sustainable development of Metalloinvest and the confidence of each employee in the future is the modernization of production equipment at the Company's enterprises,” commented Andrey Varichev. - The use of the latest technologies increases the efficiency of the plant, gives it additional opportunities for the implementation of industrial and social projects.
The end point of the excursion was the mill's sheet-rolling shop. Thanks to the modernization of the roller heat-treating furnace No. 1 and the roller hardening machine No. 1, carried out last year, the volume of production of heat-treated rolled metal in demand on the market was increased.
“I have been to many large industrial enterprises of the country, but this is the first time,” said Denis Pasler. - An important enterprise for the region - 10 thousand employees, a huge contribution to the region's economy and budget formation. It is necessary for it to work, develop, have a clear investment plan, and people see the future. Metalloinvest has a significant development plan for Ural Steel. We hope that all activities will be completed. This is very important for the region as well ”.
After visiting the workshops of Ural Steel, Denis Pasler and Andrey Varichev took part in the signing of the Social and Economic Partnership Action Program (SEP) for 2019. Also, the Acting Governor assessed the scale of the upcoming major overhauls of gymnasium No. 1 and the Yunost stadium, the arrangement of the Molodezhny square, the reconstruction of courtyards and city roads. These objects are included in the SEP 2019 and are the subject of concern for Metalloinvest and Ural Steel.
