At the Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), the administrative and laboratory complex ECO HOUSE TMK (Green House TMK) was put into operation for the plant's environmental service.
The opening ceremony of the complex was attended by TMK General Director Igor Korytko, VTZ Managing Director Sergei Chetverikov, as well as heads and representatives of the relevant departments of the Volgograd Region Administration, the Volgograd Regional Duma, regulatory and supervisory environmental authorities, representatives of TMK and VTZ management.
The new two-storey building of ECO HOUSE TMK contains rooms for analytical control of various environments: atmospheric air, natural, drinking and waste water, air in the working area, assessing the impact of physical factors on a person, offices for employees. For research, the environmental center is equipped with the most modern equipment and high-precision measuring instruments. Particular attention is paid to creating comfortable conditions for effective work of employees.
The ECO HOUSE TMK conference hall is equipped with sound and multimedia systems and is designed for educational events and focus thematic meetings with VTZ employees, students of environmental studies universities and technical schools, members of public organizations.
The futuristic look of ECO HOUSE TMK was developed jointly with the Department of Design and Monumental Decorative Arts of the Institute of Architecture and Construction of Volgograd State Technical University (VSTU). The building clearly stands out among the typical industrial development, clearly demonstrating the need to maintain a balance between anthropogenic impact on nature and TMK's efforts to preserve it.
“TMK's strategic goal is to minimize the anthropogenic impact on the environment during the production and implementation of high-tech , competitive tubular products. All projects of the company implemented under the Strategic Investment Program certainly have an environmental component. TMK pursues the most transparent environmental policy. We create conditions for improving the environmental situation in the regions where our company operates. Therefore, it is no coincidence that on the territory of one of our key enterprises - the Volzhsky Pipe Plant - we have opened such a facility as ECO HOUSE TMK. This is not only a modern laboratory complex, a workplace for environmental service personnel, but also an effective platform for scientific discussions, meetings of regional ecologists in order to further develop and improve the environment, ”said Igor Korytko.
“ Volzhsky Pipe Plant consistently implements TMK's strategic development program focused on ensuring environmental safety. By creating a modern administrative and laboratory complex, we also tried to make the activities of the plant's ecologists even more efficient. When all research resources are concentrated in one place, information is operative, working conditions become more comfortable, staff involvement and productivity increase. I am sure this will give a new impetus to the development of environmental technologies at VTZ, "Sergei Chetverikov noted.
