NLMK Group, an international steel company, won a silver prize at the Step Two Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards 2019 for launching an intranet portal accessible to all employees, which helps automate business processes and increase employee engagement.
The jury of the competition noted the main achievement of the NLMK project: the company succeeded in eliminating the “digital divide” between office employees and specialists from production departments. If earlier only employees whose workplace was equipped with a computer had access to the intranet, then the new corporate portal on the Bitrix24 platform launched in 2018 made it possible to overcome this limitation.
Thanks to the adaptive design, all portal services are available around the clock not only from computers but also from personal mobile devices of employees. New users are authorized through a code received in an SMS message.
Now all employees of the Russian enterprises of the Group can use the online HR services, learn news, participate in competitions, exchange ideas, knowledge and professional experience in the corporate social network. Already, 90% of NLMK Group personnel regularly use the intranet.
According to the jury members of the Step Two Intranet and Digital Workplace Awards, NLMK's experience in expanding access to the portal for all employees of the company can be in demand in many sectors of global business .
