OJSC "BMZ" - the managing company of the "BMK" holding, was awarded two awards at the 28th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Foundry and Metallurgy 2020. Belarus" held in Minsk on November 25-27. The winner of the ALiM Prize for 2020 (Prize named after Professor D.I.Kukui) in the nomination “Best Scientific and Production Work of a Young Engineer” was a team of authors-employees of BMZ. The enterprise was also recognized as the leader in the nomination "Best innovative project".
In the nomination "The best scientific and industrial work of a young engineer" The ALiM Prize Laureate Diploma was awarded to a team of authors, BMZ specialists, including the Deputy Head of the Technical Department Vyacheslav Puteev, ESPTs-2 technologist Ilya Pivtsaev, technologist of the rolling department of TU Aleksey Shcheglov and leading engineer-technologist of the rolling department of TU Leonid Savostyanov. They presented the development of technology for smelting, out-of-furnace treatment, casting and rolling of AISI 4130 mod-3, 30XMA, 4130 pipe steel grades, which are characterized by increased requirements for steel purity, special requirements for mechanical properties, geometric parameters and quality of the inner and outer surface of the pipe, which allowed ensure high operational properties of pipes used in the development of new oil fields in North America and the Russian Federation. ”
In the nomination“ The best innovative project implemented in the foundry and metallurgical industries, aimed at improving the quality of products, energy and Resource Saving ”of the ALiM competition was the project“ Expansion of the Grade Assortment of Steels at OJSC “BMZ” - the managing company of the “BMK” holding. Methods of out-of-furnace steel processing in steelmaking, features of the production of low-carbon alloy steel grades. ”
MNTK“ Foundry and Metallurgy 2020. Belarus ”this year was held for the first time in offline and online modes and gathered representatives from 14 countries of the world. The conference program, in addition to the plenary session, included the work of the sections "Foundry" and "Metallurgy and Materials Science", as well as a round table. Within the framework of the latter, the Deputy General Director of BMZ for Technology and Quality Sergey Terletsky presented to the participants the achievements of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant in the field of production and use of steel for the automotive industry based on the standards STB ISO 683-1, STB ISO 683-2, STB ISO 683-3, STB EN 10025-2, ISO 683-17.
The work of the Metallurgy and Materials Science section has also become fruitful for the plant workers: out of 26 reports presented at it, 13 were prepared by BMZ employees. The topics of the speeches are very different - from expanding the grade of steel to the use of ultrasonic testing to assess the macroscopic purity of the metal. All of them were included in the materials of the conference.
It should be noted that OJSC “BMZ, the management company of the holding“ BMK ”, is one of the founders of the Association of Foundry and Metallurgists of Belarus, and the General Director D.A. Korchik is the chairman of ALiM.
