Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore and hot briquetted iron on the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, has allocated more than 100 million rubles for the purchase of vitamin complexes and additional sets of personal protective equipment against viral diseases for employees of their enterprises.
Kits of protective equipment will be issued monthly to all employees working at Metalloinvest's enterprises. The new support measure started in October and will last at least until January 2021 inclusive.
More than 40 thousand employees of the Company receive kits every month. The individual set includes 2 reusable masks, 500 ml of antiseptic and latex gloves for those at risk.
By the end of the year, it is planned to provide the employees of the Company's plants with a complex of vitamins. It will include such drugs to maintain the body's immunity and prevent acute respiratory viral infections such as vitamin D, vitamin C, melatonin, zinc.
“From the first day of the pandemic, each employee has been under the scrutiny of the Company's medical service. We have organized a set of measures to ensure the maximum safety of employees and their family members using all the means known and available to medicine, ”said Andrey Salnikov, Director of the Health Protection Department of Metalloinvest Management Company. “Thanks to the efforts of the Company, the incidence rates of COVID19 among employees are currently at a consistently low level.”
In October, Metalloinvest launched a campaign to vaccinate employees against influenza. It is planned to vaccinate more than 15 thousand workers of enterprises and the management company, which is about 30% of the entire team.
At corporate medical institutions in the cities where the Company operates, Situation Centers have been created, which employees of enterprises can turn to for help when the first symptoms of ARVI are detected.
Metalloinvest is implementing a program to support health care institutions in the Orenburg, Belgorod and Kursk regions worth more than 2 billion rubles. The funds allocated by the Company are used to equip hospitals with high-tech medical equipment and personal protective equipment for personnel, and specialized vehicles.
