Kolchuginsky "Elektrokabel" (EKZ, part of the "Cable Alliance Holding", which unites the cable assets of UMMC) will invest over 1 billion rubles in the development of production in the next 3 years. Several projects are underway, aimed at increasing the output of medium and high voltage power cables, cables for rolling stock, auto pipelines. Also, new directions are being actively developed: the organization of production of assembly cables and air lines is at the completion stage. The largest investment project over the past 8 years at EKZ will be the installation of a second inclined extrusion line in workshop No. 3, designed to insulate cables of medium (up to 35 kV) and high ( up to 110 kV) voltage. Another significant acquisition will be an armored vehicle designed to impose steel tape armor. And the current equipment is being modernized, which will make it possible to put on the cable not only armor, but also a screen that protects against electrical interference. Also, in the next two years, we plan to expand the base for carrying out acceptance tests of finished products by adding a new test building to workshop No. According to preliminary calculations, due to a set of measures, workshop No. 3 will increase its capacity for the production of cables for large power engineering by 1.5 times. "Electrokabel" felt the whole complexity of 2020. Many infrastructure projects in the country were suspended, companies cut investments, which could not but affect the cable industry. Nevertheless, we managed to maintain a portfolio of major orders, continue to modernize production, and we do not intend to slow down in the coming year. Development is the guarantor of a stable future for the plant as a whole and for each employee in particular, ”stressed Evgeny Sukhodoev, director of EKZ JSC.
