NLMK-Metiz, a NLMK Group company, has completed the installation of the main process equipment for a new wire galvanizing line in the town of Berezovsky, Sverdlovsk Region. At the moment, the enterprise is undergoing commissioning. The project will allow NLMK-Metiz to increase its production of galvanized wire by 40%, as well as to offer the market a new product - zinc-aluminum-coated wire.
Zinc-aluminum coating is several times superior in corrosion resistance to pure zinc coating , and also provides metal resistance to high temperatures and adverse weather conditions. Important advantages of this coating are increased ductility and improved weldability. Zinc-aluminum coated wire can significantly increase the service life of products made from it: gabions, geogrids and fences.
Investments in the project amounted to 540 million rubles. It is planned to receive the first products in February 2021.
