At the end of 2020, MMK shipped 415.6 thousand tons of metal products to Uzbek companies, which amounted to 82% of the total sales to the Central Asian states and 35% of the supplies to the CIS countries.
At an industrial exhibition in Tashkent, MMK representatives held meetings with a number of major clients. Among them is Tashkent Pipe-Rolling Plant LLC (TTZ), the first manufacturer of steel pipes in Uzbekistan. At TTZ MMK supplies, first of all, hot-rolled steel, as well as other types of products. The total volume of shipments by MMK to TTZ in 2020 amounted to 66.2 thousand tons.
MMK also actively cooperates with companies representing the automotive industry of Uzbekistan. During the exhibition in Tashkent, the delegation of MMK held meetings with manufacturers of cars and their components, in particular, with UzAuto Motors, as well as its subsidiaries and contractors. In total, in 2020, MMK supplied over 38 thousand tons of metal products to the enterprises of the Uzbek automobile industry.
Another major MMK client in Uzbekistan is the ARTEL Group of Companies, one of the key manufacturers of household appliances and electronics in Central Asia. In 2020, the AKFA ARTEL holding company, which owns the company, purchased 19.2 thousand tons of products from MMK, primarily cold-rolled and galvanized steel. In addition, MMK is closely cooperating with the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, which was launched in December 2020 (with a design capacity of 500 thousand tons of galvanized and painted steel per year) and is the main supplier of hot-rolled coils for this enterprise. According to MMK executives, the members of the delegation from Magnitogorsk had productive meetings with representatives of all the listed companies, where they discussed in detail the prospects for developing partnerships.
