Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk region)
A new, already the fourth, exhibition center has opened in the Museum complex of the UMMC. Wings of Victory is one of the largest Russian aviation museums. In terms of a number of parameters, primarily high-quality content, as well as its composition, the new exposition area can be called truly unique.
The first excursionists of the new exhibition center were Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District Vladimir Yakushev, Governor Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Commander of the Central Military District Alexander Lapin and General Director of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, founder of the museum complex Andrey Kozitsyn.
“We are opening Wings of Victory on the eve of the holy and great holiday on May 9! - Andrei Kozitsyn addressed those present. - The new exhibition complex is our tribute to the memory of the Great Deed of the victorious people. I would like to thank the builders who solved a lot of complex technical problems during its construction, as well as the museum staff and all those who took part in the creation of this exhibition center. In the near future, the site will be replenished with new exhibits and new realistic scenes, as well as modern multimedia solutions. ”
The tour passed through two exhibition halls. A large collection of fighters, bombers, attack aircraft, transport workers - almost three dozen samples of aviation technology - is collected on an area of 9000 m2. Even the largest aircraft are located in the hall.
“The huge four-story pavilion contains a unique aviation chronicle of the Great Patriotic War. Andrey Anatolyevich Kozitsyn and UMMC again managed to implement a very daring idea and create one of the largest aviation museums in the country. The museum complex itself in Verkhnyaya Pyshma has long become the hallmark of the Sverdlovsk region, "said Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
The content of the museum fully corresponds to its name. Wings of Victory acquaints guests with the history of the development of Russian aviation, which helped the Soviet people to win the Great Victory.
Chronological sequence in the arrangement of exhibits is not the main principle of building a museum space. Technique samples are grouped into large and small artistic compositions. In the scenes of the aerodrome life, the service equipment is also represented: a rare example of a Soviet aero starter - machines for starting aircraft engines, fuel tankers, anti-aircraft guns.
The central composition called "Virage" is made up of a group of aircraft placed under the high ceiling of the upper hall ... "Virage" clearly illustrates the development of domestic aviation from the most famous pre-war reconnaissance biplane PO-2 to the first Soviet aircraft with a BI-1 rocket engine. Here you can also see enemy aircraft: fighter - Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 and Focke-Wulf FW 190 A-8. When demonstrating the aviation collection, directional light is used, which gives the scenes additional expressiveness, focuses the audience's attention on details.
The composition of another hall consists of the largest aircraft in the collection. Next to Soviet aircraft - the IL-2 “flying tank”, a symbol of the pre-war Air Force, the protagonist of the popular film “Valery Chkalov”, the I-16 fighter, the best dive bomber of that time, the Tu-2, are bombers supplied to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program Douglas A-20 Bosto, North America B-25J Mitchell, transport Douglas DC-3 and the largest aircraft of the exhibition center - the American flying boat PBY "Catalia". Its length is 19 meters, and its wingspan is more than 31 meters.
The honorary guests of the new Wings of Victory exhibition center were also shown the work of the flight simulator. VR goggles, a hydraulically operated chair and altitude-compensating gear help maximize realism. The simulator program allows you to simulate flights on various types of aircraft, from different times and countries, as well as arrange virtual air battles.
“Everything that Andrei Anatolyevich Kozitsyn and the UMMC company do is very important from the point of view of preserving historical memory ... When we talk about the Great Patriotic War, we understand that the more time passes, the more difficult it is to convey to the next generations knowledge about the war, about what our country has gone through. These new interactive formats allow young people to be introduced to history, you
