Sandvik Coromant, an expert in the field of cutting tools and tool systems, has announced the opening of three new Competence Centers. Thus, at the end of June this year, Centers in Milan, Istanbul and the German city of Renningen will open their doors to customers and partners. All of them will become part of a global network of Centers, of which there are currently 17 around the world.
The company's first Center was opened in 2014 in the city of Sandviken, and has become a unique platform for presenting the achievements of the metalworking industry, as well as a platform for training and assistance in solving customer problems.
Demonstrations, training courses and events for customers allow Sandvik Coromant specialists not only to give recommendations, but also to share practical experience working on modern equipment.
In addition, the Competence Centers provide an opportunity to work on finding solutions for the most complex metalworking tasks together with specialists in the field of production, designers, technologists and CAM programmers of Sandvik Coromant. For example, today the Competence Centers are working on such common tasks of modern production as reducing downtime, introducing advanced processing methods and selecting the optimal tool for a particular operation.
Realizing that the COVID-19 pandemic has made its own changes in the work of most enterprises on the market, Sandvik Coromant adapts to the current needs of its customers and offers them new formats for interaction, developing virtual training programs and holding various online events.
"The opening of new Sandvik Coromant Centers is part of our new global strategy to provide an exclusive level of customer support, because now they can come to Sandvik Coromant with a problem and leave with a solution. In addition, we understand that small investments in the training of our customers ' employees can significantly increase the productivity of their enterprises in the future, while at the same time improving the economy of their production facilities. By the end of this year, we plan to open another Center in Mebane, North Carolina, USA, and in the next few years several more Centers around the world," emphasizes Helen Blomqvist, President of Sandvik Coromant.
