The head of the region, accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mechel PAO Igor Zyuzin, General Director of Mechel PAO Oleg Korzhov and Managing Director of ChMK PAO Anatoly Shchetinin, saw the process of making a 100-meter rail. Alexey Teksler was shown the technology of rolling, polymer hardening, cooling and product marking. Most of the rails are supplied to Russian Railways for the renovation of railways throughout Russia. Since its opening in 2013, more than 2.5 million tons of rails and beams of various configurations have been manufactured at the mill's rail and structural mill.
After inspecting the production, the Acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region met with the mill's employees and answered their questions. Among the topics of concern to the workers: improvement of the area, medicine and, of course, the environment.
“My father took me to the plant. I'm at home here. The conversation turned out to be difficult, but frank. Many of the questions asked are of concern not only to employees of the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, but also to all Chelyabinsk residents. I hope I was able to answer them substantively and to the point, "Alexei Teksler summed up.
A separate topic for discussion was the implementation by Mechel Group of a program to reduce its environmental impact, calculated until 2024. As a reminder, the company's plans to modernize production sites were enshrined in a four-way agreement between Mechel PAO and the Regional Government, the RF Ministry of Natural Resources and Federal Rosprirodnadzor.
Mechel PAO's General Director Oleg Korzhov said that the program is already being implemented: ago we signed a four-party agreement, which includes several dozen events and will require us to invest more than 10 billion rubles. We have already begun to implement a number of projects from this plan concerning the modernization of the coke-chemical production. It is the production of coke that traditionally raises many questions from environmentalists, so the work on cleaning up the emissions from Mechel-Koks will continue. At Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant we have started modernizing the blast furnace; one of the converters will be replaced in the near future. In addition, we are developing a set of measures to treat the company's wastewater. "
