JSC "Uralmekhanobr" (a research and design institute within the UMMC) is modernizing its fleet of laboratory flotation machines. In August of this year, the enterprise purchased 3 pneumatic mechanical flotation machines of a new generation for the laboratory for the enrichment of non-ferrous metal ores and technogenic raw materials.
The equipment replaced technologically outdated mechanical flotation machines.
- Flotation machines are one of the main types of equipment in the laboratory for the beneficiation of non-ferrous metals and man-made raw materials, which makes it possible to simulate various technological schemes of the beneficiation process, ”said Sergey Mamonov, head of the beneficiation department (science) of Uralmekhanobr JSC. - The machines are used every day to carry out flotation experiments for the dressing of various types of ores. That is why the management of the institute pays great attention to the quality of this equipment.
Among the main advantages of the new generation machines are the presence of a pneumatic mechanical aeration unit and a system for automatically maintaining the pulp level and stabilizing its temperature in the cell of the flotation machine, the ability to digitally control the rotation speed of the foam and impeller, as well as fixing the duration of flotation operations in automatic mode, and much more.
The availability of these options allows you to reduce the influence of the human factor on the result of flotation, to increase both the accuracy and reliability of the results of flotation studies and enrichment indicators.
The carried out comparative tests showed that the use of pneumatic mechanical flotation machines of a new generation, in comparison with mechanical ones, allows to increase the extraction of copper into copper concentrate when enriching refractory oxidized copper serpentinite ore by 3.6%.
Renovation of the flotation steam JSC "Uralmekhanobr" has been systematically engaged since 2017. Currently, the laboratory equipment park has been updated by half.
