Errors on the washing machine display: decoding and elimination

Modern washing machines are equipped with displays that display error codes when problems occur. Understanding these codes helps you quickly identify the problem and determine if it can be fixed on your own or if you need the help of a specialist. In this article, we will analyze the most common errors on the display of washing machines, the causes of their occurrence and ways to eliminate them.

The main reasons for errors on the display

Errors on the display are usually associated with various factors, from incorrect connection of equipment to mechanical failures. The error code is often accompanied by a flashing indicator or a light on the control panel. The most common causes include:

  • Water supply failure. The machine may show errors if the water is not coming in or is filling too slowly. The reasons may be a blocked faucet, a blockage in a hose or filter, or a faulty water supply valve.
  • Problems with water drainage. The error appears if the drain system is clogged or the pump is out of order. The water may not leave the drum, which blocks the further washing cycle.
  • The download level is incorrect. An overloaded drum or, conversely, too little laundry can cause an imbalance. In modern washing machine models, this is recognized and accompanied by an error.
  • Malfunction of the heating element. If the water does not heat up to the desired temperature, an error appears, indicating a problem with the heating element or temperature sensor.
  • Malfunction of sensors and electronics. Error codes may indicate a malfunction of the water level, temperature, or door sensors. Control board failures are also possible.
  • Mechanical failures. Problems with the drum, drive belt, bearings, or shock absorbers may be accompanied by error codes, especially if the machine detects an imbalance or inability to rotate the drum.

How to correctly decipher errors on the display

Each manufacturer of washing machines has its own numbering of error codes. General recommendations for decoding:

1. See the instructions for your model. It contains all the codes with a detailed description and possible remedies. Sometimes the error is displayed as a letter with a number, for example, E1 or F3.

2. Identify the source of the problem. Analyze at what stage of the washing the error occurred: when adding water, heating, squeezing or draining. This helps to narrow down the search for the cause.

3. Perform a visual inspection. Make sure that the water is supplied, the drain is not clogged, and the door is tightly closed. Often, a simple check helps to solve a problem without the intervention of a wizard.

4. Restart the program.
