The fuel point on the territory of the enterprise solves three tasks: it removes downtime at off-site gas stations, gives the wholesale price of a liter and makes consumption transparent. It is collected from a strapping tank, a pumping unit, and a metering system.

The arithmetic is simple. A fleet that selects 15-20 thousand liters of diesel per month saves both on purchase price and on time: cars do not leave the site and do not queue on the highway. With a consumption of a couple of thousand liters, the maintenance of the point and accounting eat up the benefits, and fuel cards remain more reasonable.
The second effect is less obvious. When the vacation goes through the node with the meter, the distribution by machines and shifts is visible. In practice, it is this accounting that reveals the shortage, because comparing receipts does not show it. Liters converge on paper, but not in tanks.
Pump, meter and filter
The heart of the point is the pumping node. Rotary gate pumps are used for fuel.: they are self-priming, keep a stable flow rate and tolerate short dry runs. Gears are used for viscous oils. Productivity is selected according to the task: 10-40 l /min for barrel pumping, 40-130 l /min for refueling equipment.
The voltage is selected at the workplace: 12 and 24 V on field equipment, 220 V in a small warehouse, 380 V in a stationary unit with a long load. The three-phase unit heats up less and lives longer. For gasoline in an explosive zone, the engine is used in an explosion-proof design. A 5-30 microns filter is placed in front of the pump: the suspension eats up the gates faster than the resource is generated.
