The technology for producing rolled sheets by hot deformation to the required dimensional parameters is widely used at specialized metallurgical enterprises. The workpiece is preheated to a plastic state without loss of carbon composition characteristics, which allows the sheet to be produced with particular precision and evenness of the surface. Serially produced hot-rolled hot-rolled sheet is regulated according to the unified standards of Russian GOST:
- Thickness – from 0.6 to 160 mm.
- Width – from 500 to 4400 mm.
- Standard size (length and width) – 1250x2500 and 1000x2000 mm.
The parameters are slightly different from European, American and Asian standards. For production, blanks from carbon, alloy or structural steel grades are used.
Geometry accuracy – high (B) and normal (N). Additional processing - grinding, galvanizing or coating the surface with protective compounds. The data is indicated in the technical passport, which is provided by the manufacturer for each batch of products.
Classification of hot rolled sheets
Taking into account the specifics of supply and storage, hot rolled sheets require storage in specialized metal depots. Supplied by the manufacturer in packs. Product names are presented in supplier catalogs and are accompanied by a description generally accepted for engineering and technical reference books:
- Dimensional parameters.
- Abbreviation of steel or alloy grade.
- Method production and additional processing.
Technical characteristics allow the technologist to determine the optimal processing option for the manufacture of the desired final parts or structural elements. The degree and possibility of using welding, laser or metal-cutting equipment is determined.
