In the construction industry, there is a wide variety of foundations. Each is individually selected for the specific soil conditions and features of the future building. Construction metal structures for piles are quite in demand for unstable areas regularly flooded with melt and other seasonal waters.
Feature of steel piles
Classic steel piles resemble concrete ones, with the only difference that inside it remains hollow when driven into the ground. After immersion to the required depth, it is additionally poured with liquid concrete from the inside, and given time to dry. But, there are screw piles, they have their own technical and operational advantages:
- Easy and fast installation of even a large number.
- Possibility of screwing in without special equipment.
- Accuracy of position adjustment.
- High resistance even inside unstable soils.
The strength of the structure is provided not by the thickness of the "screw" but by the depth of its immersion and the strength of its twisted part. It is they who will take on most of the load when a building object is built on the basis. Another advantage of screw piles is the ability to install modular residential structures on them.
Fields of application of metal piles
They can be used not only for one-story, wooden, composite or brick buildings, but also for non-residential buildings. In addition, metal products have become very popular for the rapid construction of stable power lines. To other, equally used areas, it is worth adding:
modular residential and industrial facilities;
- construction of buildings on slopes without additional excavation;
- installation of essential equipment on a raised foundation;
- if it is necessary to temporarily install a building, but on a solid foundation.
Important: the number of piles must correspond to the design load created not only by the building, but also by all future equipment in it. A small factor of dynamic loads created by people themselves and operating equipment can be added to the calculation. Iron pile foundations are the most profitable solution for one-story construction. And in some areas, the only possible solution in which it is generally possible to carry out the construction of a building or a foundation for equipment.
