Supply ventilation: equipment and basic principles of the system organization
The intake system allows for a constant supply of outside air without the need to open windows regularly. This option is suitable for rooms where a controlled supply is required, but a full-fledged supply and exhaust system is not a mandatory part of the task. However, the choice of installation cannot be reduced to comparing maximum performance and price: the equipment must match the room, operating mode and future installation scheme.
First, they determine how many rooms need to be serviced. Local equipment can be used for one room, while multiple areas will require an installation capable of working with an air duct network. The more rooms involved in the scheme, the more important it is to determine in advance the supply points, channel routes and the location of the unit itself.
Performance is calculated based on the actual air demand. They take into account the number of people, the purpose of the premises and the duration of their use. At the same time, it is important to look not only at the maximum flow rate, but also at the operating performance with the resistance of the filter and air ducts. It determines how much air will actually enter the room after installation.
The duct network is designed simultaneously with the equipment selection. Long stretches, a large number of turns, and sudden transitions increase drag. If the channel has too small a cross-section, the flow velocity increases and the aerodynamic noise may increase. Therefore, proper selection presupposes a relationship between the plant's performance, channel cross-section and distribution elements.
Filtration is another constant element of operation. The filter retains the particles provided by the design, but gradually becomes polluted. Its resistance is increasing, so the condition of the consumable affects the operation of the fan and the actual flow rate. Before buying, it is useful to know in advance where the filter is located, how often it is checked, and how easy it is to replace.
For winter operation, the possibility of preparing supply air is being evaluated. If the equipment is equipped with heating, they look at the provided modes and compare them with the conditions of the facility. You can't draw a conclusion based on the function alone: the entire operating scenario is important — the flow rate, the outdoor temperature, the fan mode, and the room requirements.
The installation location should remain convenient for maintenance. Access to filters, control panels, and other components must not be blocked by furniture or decoration. If the installation is connected to several branches, after installation, perform
