US and China set to enter major trade agreement

Trump: China deal will be largest trade deal in history

January 31, Washington. A Chinese delegation is in Washington this week to discuss details of a deal to end the trade war that the two countries have been waging for nearly a year.

Chinese Vice Premier Liu Hu and officials from Beijing are discussing an agreement on metal trade and intellectual property rights with Trump's top economic and trade aides.

Before a private meeting with Liu Trump told reporters that the deal has "very good chances":

- It will be the largest trade agreement ever concluded in history.

Tariffs on aluminum and steel, introduced by the US in March last year, have affected most countries, including China. The only exceptions were Argentina and Australia.

The Celestial Empire responded with its own taxes on American goods, to which Trump responded with large fines. He promised to double them if the two countries fail to reach a formal agreement.

If the deal with Beijing is not reached by March 1, the US President has promised to increase taxes on exports from China by another $ 200 billion.
