According to the World Organization of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2023, global sales of new vehicles amounted to 92.7 million units, which is 12% more than the previous year.

The largest number in this volume were passenger cars - 65, 3 million units (+11.3%). Sales of commercial vehicles increased by 13.3%, to 27.4 million units.

China has once again become the world's largest national car market. Last year, almost 30.1 million vehicles were sold in China, which is 12% more than a year earlier. Of these: passenger cars - 26.1 million units (+10.6%), commercial vehicles - 4 million units (+22%).

The second in terms of sales volume was the US market with an indicator of - 16 million units (+12.5%). Passenger cars sold in the United States were 3.1 million units (+9%), and commercial vehicles were sold 12.9 million units (+13%).

The third result for India was 5.1 million units (+7.5%). The passenger car fleet in this country was replenished with 4.1 million new vehicles (+8.2%), and commercial vehicles – with 978 thousand units. (+5%).

Japan is in fourth position - about 4.8 million units (+13.8%), of which: cars - 4 million units (+15.8%); commercial – 786 thousand units (+4.4%).

Germany closes the TOP-5 largest national car markets – 3.2 million units (+8%), of which: passenger cars – more than 2.8 million units (+7.3%); commercial – 360 thousand units (+15%).
