The Austrian steel company Marienhütte has commissioned the Italian equipment manufacturer Danieli Technologies to modernize most of the bar processing area installed at its plant in Graz. The upgrade is scheduled to be completed in early 2026. The project provides for dismantling, installation and commissioning during the planned three-week shutdown of the plant.
The upgrade will allow the line to process bars up to 72 meters long, compared with less than 40 meters previously, into bars with a diameter of 8-40 mm at a speed of up to 60 m/sec. The new equipment will also provide full automation of the production line.
The upgrade will provide Marienhütte with greater flexibility in production to meet changing market demands while reducing overall costs.
