In April of this year, German crude steel production decreased 10.1% year-on-year to 2.95 million metric tons, according to information provided by the German Federation of Steel Manufacturers (WV Stahl).
In the first four months of this year, German steel production decreased by 11.9% year-on-year to 11.45 million tons.
In this case, in January-April, German pig iron production amounted to 1.86 million tons, a decrease of 11.2%, while in the period from January to April it decreased by 14.6% to 7.18 million tons, year-on-year.
In April, the country's hot-rolled steel production decreased by 8.6% year-on-year to 2.49 million tons, while in the first four months of this year it decreased by 10.4% to 10.13 million tons compared to the same periods of the previous year.
