The CEO of stainless steel manufacturer Aperam, Timoteo Di Maulo, is retiring after more than a decade at the helm.
The Board of Directors appointed Sudhakar Sivaji, currently the Chief Financial Officer of Aperam, as CEO, and the transition period took effect on January 1, 2026,[b]Kallanish[/b], the company said in a statement.
Sud Sivaji, who joined Aperam as CFO in 2020, has almost 25 years of experience in the steel, alloy and aerospace industries. Previously, he worked in Thyssenkrupp's steel and materials science divisions in senior positions in Europe, the United States, China and Brazil.
Di Maulo will remain a member of the Board of Directors and Strategic Advisor for Public Relations in Europe. Under his leadership, Aperam has diversified its business and strengthened its cyclical model.
He created a four-segment structure, put carbon reduction and waste recycling at the forefront of the strategy, and strengthened trade protection and commercial supremacy.
"Tim was an outstanding leader, leading Aperam through a period of profound transformation. He has built a stronger, more diversified and sustainable company, well prepared for future challenges," Lakshmi Mittal said in a note.
Looking to the future, Aperam strives to strengthen what is called value leadership. Each division will focus on competitiveness and growth as the company aims to strengthen its supply chain and make major investments in Brazil, France, the United States and across Europe.
Nicolas Changer, CEO of Service and Solutions and Marketing Director of Aperam Stainless Europe, has been appointed CFO.
