SSAB announces that it is launching its certified network of Strenx high-strength structural steel manufacturers in the Netherlands.
The Strenx Certified Fabricator network unites a select group of manufacturers who have proven their ability to supply original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with components and finished structures, Kallanish understands.
The Swedish steel company SSAB demonstrated its experience working with Strenx performance steel," explains the Swedish steel company. It is added that the Dutch company Joop van Zanten has become a member of the network.
Separately, SSAB selected the Fives engineering group to modernize the heating furnace control system at its plant in Raahe, Finland. The two Stein Digit@l furnaces, originally installed by Fives in the 1990s, have undergone several upgrades to maintain performance and reliability.
Among other functions, SSAB will implement intelligent monitoring, a data-driven platform that will consolidate operational data. The system will provide real-time performance indicators, provide proactive monitoring of processes and quality, detect anomalies, and predict maintenance needs, thereby improving productivity and reliability, Fives notes.
