Tata Steel enterprises in the UK and the Netherlands reported a decrease in production volumes for October-December (3rd quarter) of the 2026 financial year (26th financial year), follows from the recent preliminary results of Kallanish.

In terms of liquid steel production, Tata Steel Netherlands reported 1.68 million tonnes for the quarter, down from 1.76 million tonnes in the third quarter of 2025, but virtually unchanged from 1.67 million tonnes in the previous quarter. For the first nine months, this figure was 5.05 million tons, compared with 5.12 million tons for the same period in 2025.

The company states that "seasonal factors and subdued market dynamics have led to lower shipments" compared to the previous quarter.

The volume of shipments for the quarter amounted to 1.4 million tons, down from 1.53 million tons year-on-year, and from 1.54 million tons compared to the previous quarter. For 9 months, these volumes amounted to 4.44 million tons, compared with 4.5 million tons for the same period in 2025.

In the UK, work continues on a new Tata electric arc furnace after the end of pig iron smelting at the plant in September 2024.

Tata reports that "the work on creating conditions for the EAF project has progressed, and the landscape of the site is being rebuilt for the next stage of construction".

As part of this, the company serves its customers through the subsequent processing of the purchased substrate. Shipments to the UK in the third quarter decreased to 0.52 million tonnes, compared with 0.57 million tonnes in the previous quarter and the third quarter of 2025. For 9 months, the volume of shipments amounted to 1.69 million tons compared to 1.88 million tons year-on-year
