Tubao accelerates the adoption of low-carbon hydraulic solutions with ArcelorMittal's XCarb technology

As part of a long-term partnership with ArcelorMittal, Tubao, whose mission is to address critical challenges such as water management, waste management and storage, has taken a new step towards building a sustainable infrastructure by introducing hot-dip galvanized XCarb® steel, made from recycled and renewable steel, into its products. Pipes.

Located in Saint-Saens, in the Normandy region of France, the company, recognized as a reliable provider of water storage solutions, strives to reduce the negative impact of hydraulic infrastructure on the environment by combining its engineering expertise with the use of low-carbon steel. By significantly reducing the carbon footprint of primary materials used in the production of galvanized pipes and storage systems, Tubao strives to provide customers with a competitive advantage in a market where environmental friendliness criteria are becoming increasingly important in public tenders and infrastructure projects. Commenting on the development, Tubao Business Development Manager Adrien Le Flancek stated that thanks to recycled and renewable XCarb® steel, the company can produce galvanized metal pipes with a 60percent reduction in CO₂ emissions, while maintaining structural integrity and corrosion resistance. The company's commitment to decarbonization goes beyond the choice of materials: customers are provided with transparent and measurable data to support carbon reduction decision-making processes. In this context, the environmental impact of its products is documented using data verified by FDES/INIES. The company stated that its solutions provide carbon savings of up to 60% compared to standard metal pipes and up to 70% compared to traditional concrete alternatives, as well as fully utilize the recyclability of steel after its service life. Combining technical performance, innovation and environmental responsibility, Tubao strives to play a leading role in decarbonizing hydraulic infrastructure through its partial collaboration with ArcelorMittal and support for the transition to low-carbon construction. Adrien Le Flancek stated that the infrastructure sector has a real responsibility for decarbonization, adding that through the partnership with ArcelorMittal and the integration of XCarb® technology In its product range, the company offers customers a specific and documented path to low-carbon construction without compromising technical performance.
