EU exempts Vietnamese stainless steel manufacturer from countervailing duties

The European Commission has exempted one Vietnamese supplier from EU countervailing duties on imports of cold-rolled stainless steel flat products.

Duties had previously been imposed on cold-rolled stainless steel flat products from Indonesia, Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam.

Since no evidence was found that Lam Khang's stainless steel cold-rolled flat products received subsidies, the company was granted an exemption from countervailing duties. Duties previously levied on imports from Lam Khang are refundable, with the amendment taking effect from December 18 and retroactive to May 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, exemption requests from Trinox Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Türkiye) and Yongjin Metal Technology (Vietnam) were rejected.
