In Ukraine, in May 2025, metallurgists reduced the production of basic products. In April, there were better indicators.
This is evidenced by the data published by Ukrmetallurgprom.
Thus, in May, 664.7 thousand tons of cast iron were produced, which is 2.3% less than in April, 635.8 thousand tons of steel (-8.1%), 547.0 thousand tons of rolled metal (-4.2%).
There is also a decrease in production compared to last year: cast iron – by 1.3%, steel – by 13.8%, rolled products – by 11.8%.
According to the results of the five months of the industry's operation, only pig iron production shows positive dynamics, which increased by 5.9% in January – May 2025 compared to the data for the same period last year.
On the other hand, the volume of steel produced decreased by 2.5%, while the production of rolled metal decreased by 2.4%.
