The German metallurgical plant ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt, a subsidiary of global steel producer ArcelorMittal, is suspending production due to routine maintenance of its only blast furnace (DP)5a. This is reported by Osftv.de .
According to the company, the repair will begin on June 22 with the shutdown of the blast furnace for several hours to prepare for deep purging. Then production will be slow and we will control the reduction to carry out these works. The blast furnace is expected to be restarted on June 27-28.
The company also reported that emissions and noise are possible during the shutdown and start-up of the blast furnace near the plant. GP 5A has an annual production capacity of 1.7 million tons.
