The Ministry of Energy plans to initiate an extension of the moratorium on bankruptcy of state–owned coal mining enterprises for another year - until 2027.
This was announced by Energy Minister German Galushchenko during the Hour of Questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrinform reports.
"Indeed, we are planning to. This is an important issue," Galushchenko said, answering a question about extending the moratorium on bankruptcy of state-owned mines, which expires on January 1, 2026.
He noted that an extension of the moratorium will be proposed for another year, until 2027.
As reported, in early 2025, President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law extending the moratorium on bankruptcy of state-owned mines and the only uranium producer.
The law extended until January 1, 2026, the suspension of enforcement proceedings and enforcement measures, as well as the prohibition of bankruptcy proceedings against state-owned coal mining enterprises and the state-owned Vostochny Mining and Processing Plant.
