Arvedi, the largest Italian steel producer, presented to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Made in Italy an investment project aimed at supporting the "green" transformation of the steel industry by modernizing its plant in Cremona.

The company plans to invest 82.5 million euros in the framework of the ARVES investment program, focused on environmental modernization and technological renewal of the production process at the steel mill in Lombardy.
The program provides for measures to improve the environmental performance of production facilities, the introduction of modern metallurgical technologies, the launch of production of undirected electrical steel for electric motor cores, the introduction of technologies for processing and reuse of secondary raw materials, as well as the modernization of the liquid steel vacuum treatment plant.
In addition, the project contains a research and development component dedicated to low-carbon steel grades for the automotive industry, which should also contribute to employment growth in the region.
State aid can reach 22.5 million euros.
The Acciaieria Arvedi metallurgical plant in Cremona has the capacity to produce 3.4 million tons of steel per year, 3.35 million tons of hot-rolled products, 600 thousand tons of Tons of cold-rolled steel and 1.1 million tons of galvanized steel per year.
