Sandvik organized a LHD training for Raspadskaya Coal Company specialists. Operators honed their skills when transporting powered roof supports using the LS190S loader with a TT595 trailer to rewire the longwall complex ahead of schedule.
The miners of Raspadskaya Coal Company, which is part of the EVRAZ Group, are faced with a responsible task - to re-assemble the longwall complex within 20 days in order to start mining coal on the next longwall as soon as possible. Several dozen specialists from the Mining Equipment Assembly and Dismantling Department will take part in the project. They are currently undergoing training with Stuart McGee, Explosion Proof LHD Engineer, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.
The practical part of the training is carried out on the LS190S underground loader, purchased as part of an ongoing investment project. The machine is equipped with a TT595 trailer with a lifting capacity of 57 t, capable of moving large pieces of longwall equipment up to 2,050 mm wide. The main advantages of the TT595 are a powerful winch with 327 kN drawbar pull and a compact design with a small turning radius, preferred in tight underground mining.
The miners have already noted the high level of safety when working with the LS190S and TT595 loader, as the support sections are transported without the need for additional use of winches and monorail vehicles.
Stuart McGhee praised the use of the loader in the project: “The LS190S pneumatic wheel loader is able to travel approximately three times faster than a conventional monorail diesel locomotive. And if it took a month of continuous work to transport 175 sections, with Sandvik equipment the customer can transport all the support sections in about 10 days. ”
